One-off Donation
How can I make donation?
Please donate and support our humanitarian works through following channels:

 

Could I get a receipt for my donations?
We will issue a donation receipt to you should you provide us your name, address and do not select "no receipt required" on the donation form. You will help us saving the administrative costs if you choose not to receive a receipt. Moreover, please provide us your contact number for any necessary communications.

 

How long could I collect the receipt?
Usually, the donation receipt will be sent out to you by local postage within 3 to 4 weeks, it may take around 4 to 6 weeks should we are under the emergency relief period. Thanks for your understanding.

 

Could I have receipt name different from name of donor?
Yes, you may do so. Please simply state clearly on the donation form the name you wish to be printed on the donation receipt.

 

Would my donations be tax-deductible?
Hong Kong Red Cross is an approved charitable institution (IRD ref no. 91/356). In accordance with the Inland Revenue Ordinance in Hong Kong, if the total amount of your donations to an approved charitable institution is HK$100 or above during a financial year, these will be tax-deductible upon submission of donation receipts. 

 

How do I get a refund for my donation?

If you have made a donation in error and require a refund, please inform us within seven days by sending an email to crd@redcross.org.hk or making a call to Donation Services Hotline 2802 0016. If your donated funds have already been used, we apologize that we may be unable to refund you.

 

I am an overseas donor, how can I donate to the Hong Kong Red Cross?
We encourage you to donate to your national Red Cross (for details, please visit Red Cross Global).
If you would like to make donation directly to the Hong Kong Red Cross, please download the donation form (MS Word format / PDF format) and return the completed form to us by mail or fax to (852) 2802-0017.

 

How does the Hong Red Cross make sure the donations for relief and development projects are properly used?
Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC), as a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, always works closely with the International Red Cross, or the concerned Red Cross/Red Crescent (RC/RC) societies for disaster relief and development projects in Mainland China and overseas.  Through a well-established monitoring mechanism, the Hong Kong Red Cross ensures the donations received are used under proper approval procedures, and for designated proposes to serve the needy. We may send staff to monitor the projects on-site whenever we deem it is necessary.

 

How does the Hong Kong Red Cross report the use of fund for relief and development projects?
Hong Kong Red Cross will report to the public and donors on the progress of the relief and development projects through its publications, e.g. Annual Report, Quarterly Newsletter, Relief Work Report, as well as the Hong Kong Red Cross website, etc. whenever it is appropriate.

How does the Hong Kong Red Cross audit and manage the fund used in Mainland China and overseas?

Hong Kong Red Cross will follow the "Principles and Rules for Red Cross and Red Crescent Disaster Relief" in respect of financial management and monitoring, and will conduct audits on financial accounts according to the local legislation, the "Financial Regulations of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies", or the "International Accounting Standards" for the relief and development projects conducted through the International Red Cross or the operating RC/RC societies.

Hong Kong Red Cross will open a separate bank account which will be audited according to national standards or international standards by qualified auditors, if the donation of the relief and development projects are carried in Mainland China. Moreover, the Red Cross Society of China is required to follow the "Red Cross Society of China's Regulations for Fund-raising and Acceptance of Donations" and the "Guidelines on Financial Management of the Red Cross Society of China Headquarters" in respect of financial management and monitoring.

 

Regular Donation
Is there any bank charge for credit card donation?
Service charge will be incurred for credit card donation. Hong Kong Red Cross will handle the charge and donors are not required to pay for any additional fee.

 

Is there any bank charge on monthly donations through Bank Autopay?
No service charge will be charged to the Hong Kong Red Cross from banks, but they may have some charges to donors or account holders. Please contact your bank for more details.
 

When will my account be debited for monthly donations?
For bank autopay, the transaction will be held during the 11th and 16th of each month upon your bank autopay approval.
For credit cards, the transaction will be held either during the 11th and 16th OR the 24th and 29th of each month.

 

When would I get receipts for my monthly donations?
An annual receipt with a summary of your donations will be issued at the end of April in each year.

 

If I want to terminate my regular donation program, what should I do?
Please call our Donor Services Hotline at (852) 2802-0016 or email to crd@redcross.org.hk for donation termination.
