Application Procedure
- Application should be submitted at least 4 weeks in advance of date of event by the following methods :
- Submit application via our Online Application System
- Application Form [PDF] – Completed form could be submitted either by fax (Fax : 3103-4083) or email (E-Mail : fas@redcross.org.hk)
- Acknowledgement letter would be issued within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the application.
- Successful applicant would receive “Result of Application” and “Agreement of Acceptance not later than 2 weeks before date of event, applicants would be required to return a duly signed agreement as confirmation.
- In case of service cancellation or postponement after the agreement was confirmed, the applicant still needs to settle the relevant service fee.
Bad Weather and Circumstances Arrangements
- In case of service cancellation or postponement due to warning signals are issued in three hours before service hours by Hong Kong Observatory, the related service fee could be waived.
- For the safety, the related service fee is still needed to settle even though the event is kept going on in the following situations:
- If Red Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued in 2 hours before the event, both indoor and outdoor first aid service will be ceased
- If Red Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued during the service, indoor first aid service will be ceased unless it is dangerous to do so
- If Red Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued during the service, outdoor first aid service will be ceased after coordinating with the organization
- If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 is issued in 2 hours before the event, outdoor first aid service will be ceased
- If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 is issued during the service, and bad weather warning will be deteriorated in a short time, both indoor and outdoor first aid service will be ceased;
- If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above and/or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued in 2 hours before event and during the service, both indoor and outdoor first aid service will be ceased;
- If own safety of first aiders is threatened.
Others
- Our first aiders are recruited on voluntary basis, any subsidy or payment for them is not accepted (except those agreed by the applicant and Agency, for example: transportation and meal allowance, etc).
- Our first aiders are covered by personal accident insurance.
- If there is any COVID-19 related prerequisite for participating first aiders (i.e. workers need to complete a COVID-19 vaccination course 14 days before the date of event or able to present a valid proof of a negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test result within specific duration before the date of event, etc), applicant is advised to remark in the application form or contact our staff upon submission for better handling of recruitment of first aiders.
