While every household was busy in preparation for the Lunar New Year, around 300 volunteers and committee members of HKRC Community Care Service Department kept the needy elderly in their hearts.

On 25 and 26 January, they paid visits to 120 elders, who are singletons or aged couples, living in old private buildings in Sham Shui Po. They helped the elderly clean and tidy their homes, repaint their gates, and post up ”fai chuns” (Chinese New Year couplets). The elderly smiled broadly when they received our “blessing bags” full of festive foods and gifts.
