Psychological Support Service - Service Sharing
A fatal bus crash accident happened on 10 February 2018 that left 19 dead and over 60 injured.
As some injured passengers were sent to Princess Margaret Hospital in the evening of 10 February 2018, after the need assessment and discussion with the hospital, our regular stationing service at A&E at that night was further extended to support the injured passengers, their relatives and patients by 3 PFAiders. Also, following on-site assessment at Kwai Chung Mortuary, HKRC mobilized 10 PFAiders, 1 staff and 2 Clinical Psychologists to collaborate with government to provide individual PFA to 44 affected family members at Kwai Chung Mortuary from evening of 10 February to early morning of 11 February 2018.
Also, community outreach was conducted at Tai Po Mega Mall Zone D in the evening of 12 February 2018. The team mobilized 6 PFAiders, 1 staff, 1 Clinical Psychologist, 1 Professional Volunteer to provide psychoeducation to 45 residents of Tai Po who were emotionally disturbed by the traffic accident.
