Oral pleadings are to be scored on a scale of 50 to 100 points, consistent with the following scale  (please provide written comments, if any, on a separate paper):

50-54 = Extremely Poor;          55-64 = Very Poor;     65-74 = Poor;            75 = Average;


76-84 = Above Average;         85-89 = Good;             90-94 = Very good

95-99 = Extremely good;          100 = Excellent   

 


 

General elements to consider in scoring the oralists:

  • Knowledge of the facts and the legal principles directly applicable to the facts.
  • Proper and articulate analysis of the issues
  • Knowledge and use of authorities.
  • Logic and reasoning.
  • Ingenuity (able to argue by analogy from related aspects of humanitarian law)
  • Clarity and organisation.
  • Persuasiveness
