At the kick-off ceremony cum bus parade on 8 February, composer-singer Ms Ellen Loo was officially appointed as the Promotion Ambassador of the “Hong Kong Humanity Youth Power”.

The Hong Kong Humanity Award is co-organized by the Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) and Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK). Launched in 2007, the Award aims to give tribute to those who live up to and put into practice the spirit of humanity. In the past seven years of annual awards, 42 awardees were selected. Their stories of protecting human life, caring for the health of the vulnerable and respecting human dignity exhibited the spirit of humanity. Through their examples and dissemination efforts, we hope to enhance public awareness towards humanity and help building social harmony.
