Hong Kong Red Cross Provides Emergency Assistance to Tai O Fire-affected residents
A No. 3 alarm fire broke out at Kat Hing Street, Tai O yesterday (2 May) afternoon. A number of stilt houses along the road were damaged and the fire-affected residents were evacuated to Lung Tin transit center nearby.
After coordination with the Social Welfare Department, the Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) has immediately mobilized staff and volunteers last night bringing in family packs include clothing bundles and daily necessities for those affected, while a Clinical Psychologist was also deployed this morning to conduct initial assessment for psychological support. A total of 4 families benefited from the emergency assistance.
Hong Kong Red Cross has a team of staff and volunteers standby 24 hours to offer emergency relief response and psychological support service, in order to provide timely assistance for those in need.
