Winter aid program to Street Sleepers 2009
Immediately following the issue of the first Cold Weather Warning by the Hong Kong Observatory on 16 November 2009, 18 volunteers from the Hong Kong Red Cross visited 116 street sleepers in Sham Shui Po, Mongkok and Yau Ma Tei for two consecutive days. Knowledge on cold preparedness and warm clothing, including jackets and caps, were provided to them.
Furthermore, the Hong Kong Red Cross stored jackets in various Cold Shelters to meet the needs of the homeless people. A total of 157 people were benefited as a result.
