Hong Kong Red Cross Continues Provide Necessities to the Human Swine Flu (H1N1 Influenza A) Quarantined People
The Hong Kong Red Cross continues its support to the Social Welfare Department (SWD) by providing 200 sets of games, 350 books and magazines, and 10 toy bears to Metropark Hotel Wanchai for those affected people today. On May 2, 2009, the Hong Kong Red Cross, under the request by the Social Welfare Department (SWD), has already delivered 300 clothing bundles, 100 sets of shampoo, shower gel and slippers, 1000 pieces of disposable underwear and 50 sets of disposable shavers to the Lady MacLehose Holiday Village in Sai Kung for those who move in for temporary stay.
The Hong Kong Red Cross continues monitoring the outbreak of Human Swine Flu (H1N1 Influenza A) closely, and has implemented a series of necessary precautionary measures to minimize its impact to our volunteers and service clients. In addition, certain stock of daily necessities is prepared for emergency purpose at the Hong Kong Red Cross’ godown.
The Hong Kong Red Cross Local Relief Service is partially subvented by the Social Welfare Department, is dedicated to provide relief assistance to the people affected by natural disasters and other emergencies in Hong Kong.
