A Fire Signal No.3 incident happened in Ha Wo Che Village, Shatin on 16 October 2008, leading 3 families were homeless. They were then arranged to stay in the nearby community hall temporarily. 

In response to the need, the Hong Kong Red Cross act immediately to dispatch relief personnel to the community hall and distribute relief materials such as clothing bundles and daily necessities to the 5 fire affected people. Psychological support was also rendered for consolation for them.
