Providing emergency relief service for the fire affected people in Cornwall Court, Mongkok


A Fire Signal No.5 incident happened in Cornwall Court on Nathan Road, Mongkok on 10 August 2008, caused 4 dead, 55 injured. As the building was blocked by police for investigation, some of the homeless residents had to stay in Mongkok Community Hall temporarily. 

In response to the need, the Hong Kong Red Cross act immediately to dispatch relief personnel to the Mongkok Community Hall and distribute relief materials such as clothing bundles and daily necessities to fire affected people on both 10 &11 August 2008. Psychological support was also rendered for consolation for them.
