A fire happened in Long Ping Estate, Yuen Long on 10 May 2008 where 4 residents come from a family became homeless. The affected people were arranged by the Housing Department to stay in a spare flat located in same estate temporarily.

On the same day, the Red Cross volunteers distributed relief materials including clothing bundles and daily necessities to the 4 affected residents to meet their emergency needs. Psychological support service was also provided to comfort them.
