A fire happened in Hang Tau Tsuen, Sheung Shui at midnight on 6 March 2008. 2 elderly were affected and became homeless. 

After the fire, the Red Cross staff distributed relief materials including clothing bundles, sweaters, jackets and daily necessities to the affected elderly to meet their emergency needs. Psychological support service was also rendered for consolation for them.
