Winter aid program to homeless people 2007/2008

Sudden drop in temperature to 13℃ on 29 November 2007, did not shut the Red Cross volunteers at home. On the contrary, the Hong Kong Red Cross volunteers visited homeless people in various districts including Tsimshatsui, Yaumatei, Mongkok, Taikoktsui, etc. at that night. In the operation, jackets were distributed to 101 homeless people. They were reminded to prepare for the cold weather and encouraged to stay in Cold Shelters for protecting their life. Besides, the volunteers also paid regular visits and provided care to the homeless people in the districts from October to December 2008.

Furthermore, the Hong Kong Red Cross has also stored jackets to various Cold Shelters for the homeless people admitted. A total of 105 people were benefited in this winter.
