Head of Corporate Communications
Job Purpose:
To formulate the corporate communications direction and steer effective and proactive corporate communications functions for the Hong Kong Red Cross including the formulation of communications strategy, issue management, media relations, agency publication and event management for the purpose of enhancing the agency's branding and publicity
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide professional advice to the Agency on corporate communications directions and to develop the execution of Agency Strategic Corporate Communications plan with a view to develop and strengthen the agency brand value and presence
- Steer the implementation of advocacy and publicity campaigns, media relations, digital media, publications and events for the effective communications and brand building purposes
- Enhance community and media presence of the Hong Kong Red Cross on a solid and well connected media work
- Manage all corporate communications materials including press releases, newsletters, annual report and all agency publications
- Keep update on latest development on communication channels or new media and suggest to the Agency on the effective approach for communications to build Agency image
- Manage the Agency website and social media presence for corporate image building and information dissemination
- Monitor the Agency complaints and appreciation statistics to provide advice on corporate communications actions as appropriate
- Comply practice with the global Red Cross communication guidelines and to ensure consistency in line with the corporate image and secure and strengthen the reputational risk management for the Agency
Requirements:
- Recognized University degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related disciplines
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in communications preferably gained from NGOs or social services, with at least 5 years’ at managerial level
- Good knowledge about Hong Kong’s social welfare development and media scenes
- Substantial experience and knowledge in communications, branding development and crisis management
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; high proficiency in written English and Chinese and spoken Putonghua
- High enthusiasm on human services
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, detail-oriented and multi-tasking abilities
- Able to manage a remote team
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Senior Manager
