Sets of powerful earthquakes have struck off Central Sulawesi, Indonesia on 28 September 2018 and triggered a tsunami in the area, over a thousand people has lost their precious lives in Palu and nearby regions.

After assessing the distress level of the Indonesian in Hong Kong, on 3 Oct 2018, HKRC contacted the Asosiasi PPTKI Hong Kong to provide timely psychological support to the people in need. A service request was received from the Asosiasi PPTKI Hong Kong on the same day to support the affected Indonesian. In the afternoon of 7 October 2018, HKRC mobilized 12 volunteers, 2 staff and 2 Clinical Psychologists of Psychological Support Team to provide timely psychological support service at Victoria Park to 187 Indonesian to support their emotional needs, psychoeducation and emergency tracing leaflets were introudced and distributed to people in need.
